Why train with us?

Our coaches at Future Athletics have been elite sprinters and hurdlers themselves. They have trained with some of the world's best coaches and competed internationally. They bring more than 30 years of extensive coaching experience working with athletes of all levels.

We strongly believe that with the right guidance, all athletes have the potential to learn and improve regardless of whether they are training to compete in a Little Athletics meet or qualify for the Olympics.  Our training is focussed on the individual athlete at their level, giving each athlete the opportunity to be their best.

We approach our coaching as a long term, holistic process. Our coaching philosophy prepares junior athletes not only for their immediate competition but also provides them with the necessary tools and skills required to transition to senior athletics.

A majority of the athletes at our Academy have been training with us for over a decade  - a testament to our coaching process that has helped them become successful not only in the junior level but also the senior level.

Our training focuses on all aspects required to be a successful athlete. Weekly training plans include Sprinting techniques, coordination drills, Plyometric exercises, Top-end speed, acceleration, speed endurance, aerobic capacity, flexibility and core exercises.

Our squad has some of the best sprinters and hurdlers in the country and provides an excellent training group for athletes of all levels.

Our squads based on age and performance levels provide junior athletes opportunities to seamlessly transition from the junior to the senior level. Since training times are coordinated, younger athletes have the opportunity to observe and learn from the professionalism and discipline displayed by the senior athletes.

Irrespective of whether you are a junior athlete or a senior athlete, training with Future Athletics will bring out your potential and achieve your best.

Sprints, Hurdles & Jumps

Sprints

The sprints training involves the best plyometric drills to enhance power and speed. Technical training to learn how to use that in races. Resistance training to push you to limits to find more speed on the track. The focus is to improve stride length and stride frequency to find more speed and distance in each sprint event.

Hurdles

The knowledge from an olympic hurdler as a coach really helps with the drills and technique to perfect the technique that is needed for this event to be able to compete at the highest level. With the element of working with the best sprint coaches to find enough speed to make the right steps by also having the technique trained by the best hurdles coach in the country.

Jumps

The training involves plyometric drills to push the body to be quick off the ground and find as much height and distance as possible to reach their best in their long jump. With sprinting being key in this, drills to build that speed and control and balance coming into the board to enhance every inch of their jump.
