Why train with us?
I have been coaching athletics since 1990 when I became Development Officer for Little Athletics Queensland. 35 years later I have been head coach & life member of Ipswich Little Athletics and Vice President and Life Member of Ipswich & District Athletics Club. I am head coach for St Peters Lutheran College and have proudly lead the team to two back to back national school championship titles.
I won Coach of the Year for Ipswich City Council in 2014 and 2024, Coach of the Year for QLD Little Athletics (Frank Knight Memorial Trophy) in 2010 and won St Peters Lutheran College Coach of the Year in 2021. I am on the Nationals Jumps and was in the 2021 intake of the Women in High Performance. I was Australian Team Coach for the UK and Germany Tour in 2023 and the World Junior Team Peru 2024. In October of 2025 I was team coach for the Oceania Cup Team traveling to Tonga.
I bring high level knowledge of all jump events in particular high jump. Being a former Heptathlete I have a broad knowledge of all events and can create a sound development plan for your athlete.
There is a strong focus on long term athlete development at my jumps sessions. I encourage athletes to stay in 'sport' long enough to reap the rewards of their hard work. Athletics can help you achieve success in many sports as Running, Jumping and Throwing are the basis for most sports. Athletes are taught fundamental skills to ensure sound athletic development through their junior years. Athletes will not be coached like small adults, they will be coached like children because they are children. Technique and fun will always be the main focus of this coaching program.
